Introduction to the Lectures


Progress in Global Health is one of the courses studied by the global health major, aiming to highlight the cutting-edge and application of the profession. For this, senior officials and well-known scholars at home and abroad were specially invited to hold a series of characteristic lectures, introducing the important fields of global health and the progress of relevant research, covering global health security, global health diplomacy, global health governance, global health emergency, and research on major global health and health issues, in the form of online and offline integration. Not only can it enable listeners to gain useful knowledge and enlightenment from the rich practice and insight of the lecturers, but also their global vision can be broadened and their understanding of global health affairs and international organizations can be improved.


Lecture 5 A Discussion on the Occupation of International Organizations from the Perspective of Global Fight Against COVID-19


Special Guest: Song Yunfu

  Former Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Health, former Coordinator of Partnership and United Nations Reform of the World Health Organization, Deputy Director of the Academic Committee of the International Competence Development Committee of the Chinese Society of Educational Development Strategy, Member of the United Nations Association of China, and Expert of the Steering Committee of the Chinese Foreign Cultural Exchange Center of the Ministry of Education. He has been employed by 29 universities as a special consultant, practical tutor and visiting professor of talent cultivation of international organizations. His 40 years of foreign affairs work: 26 years of foreign aid, bilateral and multilateral international cooperation and 14 years of service at WHO. He published his first monograph Being An International Civil Servant - Sharing Experience in Job Seeking, Serving and Promotion in 2011, his first textbook International Civil Servants and Serving in International Organizations in 2016, co-authored the New Civil Servants' Etiquette in Foreign Affairs in 2017 as the general consultant, edited the International Civil Servants' Quality Building and Job Seeking Guide in 2019, and compiled the Global Governance for the Growth of International Civil Servants in 2020, and participated in writing the Making the Whole World Virtuous-Apocalypse of Serving in An International Organization. He has made nearly 400 lectures in training courses and training camps for central and state organs and colleges and universities.
