China's participation in Countermeasures for Global Health Security Governance through International Health Cooperation Mechanism 2021-2022

The World Health Organization's biennial cooperation project, a project entrusted by the International Cooperation Department of the National Health Commission, China's participation in global health governance and global health security research under the COVID-19, and the sub project " China's participation in Countermeasures for Global Health Security Governance through International Health Cooperation Mechanism" (2021-2022)

The international health cooperation mechanism is an important platform for China to join in global health governance. Focusing on multilateral cooperation in health and security in existing mechanisms is an effective strategy to strengthen the construction of the global health and security governance system. International health cooperation mechanisms mainly involve regional multilateral mechanisms (e.g., SCO and ASEAN), cross regional multilateral mechanisms (e.g., G20), and global multilateral mechanisms (e.g., WHA), which have their own characteristics and roles in global health security governance. There are leaders' summit (macro level), health ministers' meeting and senior health officials' meeting (meso level), policy and technical cooperation (micro level) and other major forms.

The purpose of this project is to formulate a path plan for China to join in global health security governance and maintain global health security through the international health cooperation mechanism, and provide reference suggestions for formulating strategic priorities for global health security governance at the macro level, promoting the construction of multilateral health security mechanisms at the meso level, and designing specific policies and measures at the micro level.
