China and ASEAN have deepened cooperation in public health over the past 30 years, covering disease prevention, vaccine R&D, and health system building. In 2023, with joint support from China's Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education, and National Health Commission, Peking University established the China-ASEAN Science and Technology Cooperation Center for Public Health to enhance joint research, innovation, and talent development.
To further implement the China-ASEAN Health Cooperation Initiative proposed by national leaders and promote China-ASEAN public health cooperation and technical exchanges, Peking University will organize the "China-ASEAN Key Techniques in Emergency Medicine Training Course" from June 22 to July 6, 2025. This training program is supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China. The recruitment details are as follows:
1. Basic Training Information
(1) Training Title: China-ASEAN Key Techniques in Emergency Medicine Training Course
(2) Venue: Peking University Third Hospital (49 Huayuan North Road, Haidian District, Beijing)
(3) Duration: June 22 - July 6, 2025 (15 days)

2. Training Content
The training course will provide systematic training on key techniques in emergency medicine, including:
(1) Basic Life Support (BLS)
(2) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
(3) Emergency Airway Management
(4) Targeted temperature management
(5) Trauma

3. Target Participants and Requirements
(1) Target Participants: Medical professionals from Emergency Departments, Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery, Respiratory Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, and other related specialties from medical schools and affiliated hospitals in the ten ASEAN countries (Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam). Students must not be foreigners working or studying in China.
(2) Eligibility Criteria:
1) Age below 45 years old (with few exceptions), possess a bachelor's degree (including bachelor's) or above from a university or equivalent academic qualifications.
2) Licensed in relevant specialties with practical work experience in emergency medicine.
3) Good communication skills in English with the ability to conduct research, writing, and communication in English.
4) No infectious diseases, physically and mentally healthy, no joint problems, Law-abiding, honest and trustworthy, and able to participate in the entire training program.
5) Priority will be given to Directors or Deputy Directors.
4. About the Organizing Institutions
China-ASEAN Science and Technology Cooperation Center for Public Health
The "China-ASEAN Key Techniques in Emergency Medicine Training Course" will be conducted through the China-ASEAN Emergency Care Cooperation Alliance established under the China-ASEAN Science and Technology Cooperation Center for Public Health. With the support of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the coordinated guidance of multiple ministries, under the Science and Technology Assistance Project for Developing Countries supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Center was officially established in April 2023. Currently, the Center is directed by Academician Jie Qiao, Executive Vice President of Peking University and Dean of the Medical School, affiliated with Peking University School of Public Health, with the secretariat located in the Department of Global Health.
Since its establishment, the Center has continuously promoted technology-empowered health cooperation, creating a base for scientific research, technological innovation, and talent cultivation for China-ASEAN health science and technology cooperation. Focusing on major health issues facing China and ASEAN countries, the Center has strengthened exchanges with ASEAN partners and achieved phased construction results, including establishing a set of China-ASEAN health science and technology cooperation mechanisms, producing a series of China-ASEAN health science and technology cooperation outcomes, developing a team for China-ASEAN health science and technology cooperation, and building a platform for China-ASEAN health data and personnel exchanges. The Center has gradually established a long-term development mechanism for China and ASEAN countries in the field of health cooperation, playing an important role in supporting science and technology to help upgrade the quality of China-ASEAN bilateral relations, build a closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future, and promote regional peace and prosperity.
Peking University Third Hospital
Peking University Third Hospital was established in 1958 and is under the management of the National Health Commission. It is a comprehensive tertiary Grade A hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, preventive healthcare, rehabilitation, and health management. Currently, the hospital has more than 2,300 open beds. In March 2022, Peking University Third Hospital was selected as one of 14 national public hospital high-quality development pilot hospitals. In the national tertiary public hospital performance assessment, it has achieved A++ for five consecutive years. It has 1 academician from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 2 academicians from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and 8 recipients of the National Natural Science Foundation's Outstanding Young Scientist Fund. It possesses 6 national-level clinical research platforms and has published over 2,000 SCI papers in the past five years. In the "China Hospital Five-Year Total Scientific and Technological Value (ASTEM) Ranking" for 2019-2023, it ranked sixth overall.

6. Financial Information
Coverage Period:
Financial support for participants will be provided from June 21, 2025 (one day prior to the training commencement) to July 7, 2025 (one day after the training completion).
Expenses Covered:
(1) Training Fee: Participants are not required to pay any training fees, textbooks, handouts, and training equipment.
(2) Accommodation and Meals: The organizers will arrange accommodation and meals in Beijing.
(3) Transportation Expenses: The organizers will assist with booking economy class flight tickets for participants.
Expenses Not Covered:
(1) Passport and Visa Fees: Expenses related to passport application or renewal and Chinese visa application fees.
(2) Additional Travel: Any travel outside the official training program, including personal sightseeing or extended stays in China.
(3) Excess Baggage Charges: Any costs associated with excess baggage on flights.
(4) Lost or Stolen Items: Compensation for lost or stolen personal belongings.

8. Important Notes
(1) Participants are required to attend the entire training program and may not withdraw midway without special circumstances.
(2) During the training period, participants must strictly comply with all rules and regulations of Peking University and the training course.
(3) Participants must purchase their own international travel insurance to ensure medical coverage during their stay in China.
(4) Beijing experiences early summer conditions in June-July, temperature range 22-32°C, recommended cloth is Light summer attire, with a light jacket for air-conditioned indoor environments.
